The Dead Design 1:32 McDonnell F-4G Phantom II masking set is for spraying the glazing frames accurately. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for the build.
Responsibility details are not available.
A self-adhesive masking set from the Dead Design brand for models of the two-seat McDonnell F-4G Phantom II in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that takes the place of laborious cutting of masks from tape. The masks are pre-shaped, so once stuck down they follow the shape of the glazing frames. The exact extent of the set, the number of pieces and the material are not stated here.
The F-4G is the two-seat variant of the Phantom II derived from the F-4E version and reworked for finding and suppressing ground radars. In place of gun armament it carries specialized electronic equipment; otherwise it keeps the characteristic silhouette of the Phantom with its pair of engines, cranked wingtips and anhedral tailplanes. For masking, what matters is that the cockpit is tandem and divided into several parts, so there are a good many frames to cover. Within the same range there is also a form for masking from inside as well as outside, and a separate set of masks for the national insignia; this item is the basic version.
Degrease the glazing first and let it dry completely. Take the mask out with tweezers, lay it on the glass and press it so that it seats all the way around the frame; on curved areas press gradually, so that the mask follows the shape without creases. Cover the remaining area with tape or masking putty. Spray the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge. Once the paint has dried, take the mask off with a shallow pull along the surface.
This is an accessory for the build. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
