The real subject is the Nissan Fairlady 280Z sports coupe in the version with the T-Bar roof, that is with a fixed central bar and two removable panels above the heads of the crew. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Fairlady Z is a range of Japanese sports coupes with a classic layout: a longitudinally mounted inline six at the front, drive to the rear wheels, a long nose and a flowing tail. The 280Z version belongs to the more powerful part of the range, with a larger engine displacement. The T-Bar roof was the answer to demand for open driving without the body losing the stiffness that would have had to be made up for laboriously on a full convertible. The result was a car with a visually striking central bar, which is one of the main recognition features on the model.
The body is the most demanding part of car models and decides the result. It pays to free it of parting seams first, sand it down and spray it with primer, and only then to apply the paint in thin layers. Gloss is made with varnish and polishing, not with a thicker layer of paint. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic applied with a brush into the joint, as tubes of thick cement do not belong on a body. Glue the glazing and the chromed parts only at the end, ideally with a cement for clear parts, which will not cloud the surfaces. It pays to paint the removable roof panels separately and to fit them only once they have dried. Apply the decals onto a glossy surface and fix them with a final varnish in the degree of gloss you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
