Full-color three-dimensional seat belts for the Martin-Baker Mk.10 ejection seat carried under the designation SJU-5, for a model of the F/A-18 Hornet in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F/A-18 Hornet is an American carrier-borne multirole aircraft. Its pilot sits in a Martin-Baker Mk.10 ejection seat, carried under the designation SJU-5. The straps of the seat are clearly visible in the open cockpit, and rendering them convincingly moves the look of the interior further than most other modifications, because it is by them that the eye reads the scale.
Full-color three-dimensional seat belts for the seat in its later form, in 1:48 scale. The elements carry the printed colors of the straps and the fittings, so the labor of coloring them with a brush falls away, and the three-dimensional surface imitates the fabric and the buckles.
With sheets of this kind the usual procedure is the wet one: cut the part out, put it in lukewarm water for a few tens of seconds, and once it releases, slide it off the paper into place and blot the excess water away. Seating is helped by a softener, which presses the element against the shape of the seat; the manufacturer asks that it be used sparingly, that the element not be moved afterward and that it be left at least 45 minutes. Before you wet the sheet, though, verify in the instructions that it is not a self-adhesive version: a wetted self-adhesive film is ruined, whereas an unwetted waterslide decal can be wetted later.
The aircraft kit, the seat, paints and a softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
