A color decal of the instrument panel with relief for models of the carrier-borne Sea Harrier in the FRS.1 version in 1:48 scale from Kits-World. The screens OFF designation means that the displays are drawn as unlit, that is as dark areas with no glowing content. It is an accessory applied like a decal, not a part to be glued.
Deciding between unlit and lit screens is the same kind of consideration as picking a personal emblem for the fuselage: it is not a technical necessity but a question of what scene the model is to show. Unlit displays match a machine parked on deck or in a hangar, that is a scene where the model has the canopy off, the panels open and ground crew around it. Such a build also suits more restrained weathering and empty pylons. Lit screens, by contrast, read as a situation in flight and look out of place on a model standing still.
The base has to be smooth and gloss. Let the cut-out motif rest briefly in lukewarm water, slide it onto the damp surface and fine-tune its position with a brush along the edge. Blot the water away with a tissue laid on without pressure, so that the relief is not squashed. Put a drop of softener around the perimeter, not in the middle. Once it is dry, go over the surroundings with matte varnish and leave the dark displays gloss, which gives them the depth of glass.
An accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. The manufacturer also makes a variant with lit screens and sheets for other Sea Harrier versions; tell them apart by the exact designation in the name.
