This item is neither a kit nor a decal. It is a large-format printed sheet that shows an airfield surface and serves as a base under a finished model in 1:144 scale. The motif consists of four single parking areas, that is hardstandings on which a machine stands away from the runway. The format of the sheet is 225 x 225 mm.
The parking area is among the oldest elements of airfield infrastructure there is. Before continuous paved runways came into being, operators had hard surfaces only where machines were fueled, armed and maintained; the rest of the airfield stayed grass. That is exactly why the manufacturer gives the name usability from the First World War onwards: a single parking area carries no marks of a particular period or country, and so it does not tie you to one base or one decade.
In 1:144 scale a fighter takes up only a few centimeters, so an area 225 millimeters on a side leaves room for several models at once. A set of four stands positively invites a row composition, that is two to four machines of one unit parked side by side. Try the layout dry first and only then settle the models for good. The sheet can be cut up if need be and only part of it used, or joined with another base from the same range to make a larger area.
This is a printed base for a model. The model itself, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
