The D-704 refueling store in the late version (buddy) in 1:144 scale is a resin accessory from Rise144models. It is not a model of an aircraft but an underwing store for refueling in flight.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory for equipping a finished kit of a carrier aircraft in 1:144 scale. It represents the underwing D-704 store for refueling in flight, in the late form. The package contains only the store, not the aircraft or any part of it. At 1:144 scale a cast resin part is the only sensible way to keep the shape of the hose drum and of the turbine on the nose of the store legible.
The D-704 store makes what is known as buddy refueling possible, where one aircraft of the same or a related type passes fuel to another. It is carried on a station and contains a reel with a hose ending in a basket, into which the receiving aircraft inserts its refueling probe. In service the store appeared in several forms, which differ above all in the details of the front part with the drive turbine and of the rear with the hose outlet. That is exactly why the manufacturer offers the late version separately.
Separate the part from the casting block with a fine saw or a sharp knife, as pliers are not suitable for small resin. Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water, which removes the remains of mold release agent. It is bonded with super glue, as cement for plastic does not soften resin. Limit sanding to the mating surface. Before painting, apply a thin primer. The store is usually in a shade close to the underside of the aircraft, and fine colored stripes and markings on the body can be suggested with a thin brush or with a decal from your own spares. Raising the contrast with a dark wash helps to bring out the dividing lines on the body of the store.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
