The flight deck of USS Enterprise in 1:144 is a printed sheet 337 x 225 mm showing the deck of the aircraft carrier in its blue finish as it was in November 1943; it is a base under a finished model, not an airfield surface.

A printed sheet 337 x 225 mm which, unlike the other bases in this range, shows not an airfield but the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise as it was in November 1943. It serves as a base under models in 1:144 scale and it is neither a kit nor a decal.
The surface this base captures is fundamentally different from an airfield's paving. The flight decks of American aircraft carriers of the time were planked and given a dark blue stain whose designation is given in the name of the product. The result is a surface with a distinct lengthwise pattern of planks under the paint, a combination that occurs on no airfield and that gives a scene an immediately recognizable character. The dating to a single month then pins down which state of the ship the motif belongs to.
The base makes sense wherever a machine is tied to carrier operations. The 1:144 scale is practical for that, because the carrier aircraft of the time were small and several of them fit side by side on an area of 337 x 225 millimeters. Believability is helped by folded wings, if the model allows it, and by restrained weathering; the deck was a working surface, but the machines did not stand in mud on it. Lay the composition out dry, because the lengthwise pattern of the planks determines which direction will look natural.
This is a printed base for a model. The model itself, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
