AH-64D/DJ Apache 1:144 Academy is a plastic kit of the modern American attack helicopter with decals for several operators.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale capturing the modern American AH-64 Apache attack helicopter in the D version and the Japanese DJ. Thanks to the small scale and a clear build, the model from the manufacturer Academy is within reach of less experienced modelers too; it holds decals for several machines. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Boeing AH-64 Apache is the main American attack helicopter, in service since the 1980s. The D version (Apache Longbow) is marked out by its mast-mounted radar and advanced avionics for finding and destroying targets. Besides the US Army it is operated by a number of allies; the Japanese version carries the designation DJ. The Apache is meant above all to destroy armored vehicles and to give direct fire support.
At a small scale, clean fuselage joints and precise seating of the rotor and the underwing stores make the difference. Leave the rotor blades and the landing gear separate for spraying. For a faithful look use dark camouflage shades, subtle panel emphasis and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
