A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the carrier-based F-4J from the Naval Air Test Center of the US Navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4J is the carrier version of the two-seat twin-engine Phantom II jet, which the US Navy operated from aircraft carriers. The machine made its name as heavy, powerful and versatile: depending on the task it carried guided missiles and bomb loads alike, and its outline, with the drooped horizontal tail and the upswept wingtips, is among the best-known silhouettes of the Cold War. That is exactly why so many decal sheets are issued for it, each of which turns one and the same kit into a different machine.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale devoted to the F-4J from the Naval Air Test Center. Test establishments are among the favorite subjects, because their machines carry markings different from the aircraft of line combat units. The sheet is issued under the designation The Final Countdown, which names the form it captures. Which particular machines, fuselage numbers and lettering the sheet carries, and which kits it is cut for, are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
A decal sheet is supplied. The model of the aircraft, paints, varnish and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
