This is not a model of the aircraft but a detail accessory to a kit you have already bought. The set contains resin parts for the area of the radar and the electronic equipment of the Grumman EA-6B Prowler carrier-borne aircraft in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer is Black Dog, a Czech brand known for cast sets for aircraft and military vehicles. The accessory is intended above all for a build with the covers folded open or removed, when the inside is open to view and the plastic part from the kit is not enough for it.
The EA-6B Prowler was a carrier-borne electronic warfare aircraft derived from the Intruder attack aircraft, with a lengthened nose and a crew of four. Its main business was jamming hostile radars and disrupting their control systems, which extensive electronic equipment inside the airframe and in underwing pods served. That is precisely why on a model of this type the space for exposed electronic innards is more interesting than on an ordinary fighter aircraft.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the areas off by sanding them wet with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Try the seating dry and if need be adjust the cutout in the plastic part of the kit, so that the set bears down without pressure. Paint the inside over a primer, and the small assemblies will stand out with a dark wash in the recesses and a dry brush on the edges. The wiring and the connectors are worth emphasizing in a different shade, because they are exactly what creates the impression of a densely filled space.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
