This set from SX-Art is a detail accessory, not a tank model. It serves for a realistic imitation of the optical vision blocks, periscopes and sighting devices on a model of the Israeli Merkava tank in 1:35 scale. Faithfully rendered optics with the impression of glass bring the turret and the hull markedly to life and replace the flat plastic imitations from the kit. The set is intended for the Takom kit.
The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank characterized by the engine placed at the front and by the emphasis on crew protection. Its sighting devices and periscopes are small but conspicuous elements; a realistic look with a glassy reflection moves a model toward display-case quality.
Fit the clear elements at the very end of the build, so that they do not get scratched. Use a glue made for clear parts, which will not fog the surface. The shades and reflections can be fine-tuned with tinting filters; keep the surfaces clean and handle them gently with tweezers.
This is an accessory set, not a whole model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
