A multi-figure resin set from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART in 1:35. It depicts Soviet tank officers in winter coats of sheepskin fur and is meant for dioramas and vignettes with winter scenery.
Execution and material
Resin castings hold the rough texture of the fleece, the heavy fall of a winter coat and the small details of the equipment. The figures are supplied on casting blocks, which are cut off, and with mold seam lines to be cleaned up. Because it is a set, the figures are built so that together they create one scene at a vehicle.
Building and painting tips
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, level the faces and sand the resin wet with protection for your breathing. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Try laying the figures out dry first, so that the poses and the turns of the heads follow on from each other. With a set it pays to paint each coat in a slightly different shade of the same color family — the scene then does not look like a production casting, yet it stays unified. The texture of the fur comes from a dark wash and a dry brush. Leave the canvas matte and the leather slightly glossy. At the end bring the whole group together with a single matte clear coat, so that the figures look as though they belong together.
Who the set is for
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
