A canvas cab roof for the M35 soft cab in 1:35 scale is a resin accessory from PANZER ART. It makes it possible to build the truck in the soft cab form instead of with a fixed roof.

This is an accessory, not a kit of the vehicle. The resin casting represents the canvas roofing of the cab of the M35 truck in the soft cab form. It captures taut and sagging cloth, the seams and the hems as injection molded plastic could not manage them because of the undercuts. For a modeler it is above all a way to build a variant that the kit in the box does not offer.
The M35 is an American truck of the medium payload class with all-wheel drive, used in many variants and with many bodies for long decades. The vehicle was delivered both with a closed fixed cab and in a form with soft roofing, where the roof was formed by a canvas on a frame. The soft cab occurred above all on the older batches and in service where a lower vehicle profile or simpler maintenance was counted on. The difference between the two forms is immediately visible on a model and sets the character of the whole build.
Wash the casting in warm water with dish soap and cut the casting block off with a saw. Level the mating surfaces on abrasive paper laid on a flat board, so that the roof does not sit crooked on the cab. Try the part dry and fill any play with filler, and only then glue it with super glue. After the primer, paint the tarpaulin more matte than the metal, usually a shade lighter, because dusty cloth reflects light differently from painted metal. Deepen the folds with a dark wash and go over the edges with a dry brush. At the end, unify the whole truck with a fine dust pigment so that the roof fits into the whole.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin casting. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
