A set of cast improvised sandbag armor for the British A15 Crusader cruiser tank in 1:35 scale. The parts are shaped to particular areas of the vehicle, so all you do is seat them and fill the seam. Modeling the individual bags by hand from putty is a job for several evenings and the result tends to come out irregular.
The Crusader was a fast British cruiser tank used above all in North Africa. Its armor was thin and the crews added to it in the field with whatever was at hand: sandbags, spare track links and boxes. The real protective value of such a layer was limited, but its look turns a model into a machine from the battlefield rather than from the factory.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and try the fit dry. Bond with super glue and fill the seam against the armor. Paint the canvas flat and let the shades between the individual bags vary slightly. On vehicles in Africa work light dust into the folds, because that is where it collects in canvas the most.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
