A mixed-media kit of an anti-aircraft vehicle on the chassis of the German Panther Ausf. G tank in 1:72 scale from Vespid Models. In the box you will find injection-molded plastic, a photo-etched brass fret, turned brass barrels and waterslide decals. The turret carries a four-barrel set of 20 mm guns (Flakvierling) in an enclosed rotating turret and offers well worked-out internal mechanics as well as a choice of plastic or brass barrels.
This was a design study from the end of the Second World War that sought an effective defense against Allied fighter-bombers. The design combined the proven Panther chassis with an enclosed turret carrying a four-barrel 20 mm gun. The proposal stayed on paper and never reached series production, because it was soon overtaken by other concepts. As a subject it is a rewarding theme from the field of unbuilt projects.
In the small 1:72 scale this is a demanding build with photo-etch and turned parts, so we recommend cyanoacrylate for the metal, careful bending of the photo-etch and fine tools. The tracks are of the link-and-length type. A primer, an airbrush, washes and pigments for weathering all work well. It is best to assemble and paint the internal mechanics of the turret before closing it up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
