A collector's model of the Chinese ZSL-10 wheeled armored personnel carrier in a digital camouflage form, in 1:72 scale from the maker Dragon. The model comes assembled, painted and with the markings applied in production - it is not a plastic kit, so there is no gluing, sanding or spraying on it. It differs from the sister model of the same vehicle in its finish: here it is a fine digital pattern rather than the older scheme with softly bounded patches.
The ZSL-10 is a wheeled armored personnel carrier in an 8x8 layout from the armament of the armed forces of the People's Republic of China. It belongs to the same modular family of armored vehicles as the ZBL-09 infantry fighting vehicle and shares its wheeled chassis and the basic shape of the hull, but it does not carry a heavy gun turret. Its task is to carry a squad of infantry under armor protection as close as possible to the place of commitment, so the armament stays at the level of means of self-defense and the room in the hull goes to the troops being carried. The eight-wheeled chassis gives the vehicle high speed on paved roads and lower maintenance demands than a tracked vehicle. The vehicle is amphibious, which the shaped bow matches. The digital camouflage pattern belongs to the typical look of Chinese vehicles of the last two decades.
The model is finished in production including the finish and the markings and calls for no modeling work. A closed display case suits it for long-term display - the fine pattern of digital camouflage is quickly lost under a layer of dust. Use a soft brush dry for cleaning, as the factory finish would take neither solvents nor cleaning agents. The long silhouette of the eight-wheeled chassis shows to good effect in a display case beside shorter tracked types of the same scale.
The model is supplied finished - assembled and painted in production. It is not a kit, and neither glue nor paints are needed for it.
