A collector's model of the Chinese ZBL-09 wheeled infantry fighting vehicle in a digital camouflage form, in 1:72 scale from the maker Dragon. The model comes assembled, painted and with the markings applied in production - it is not a plastic kit, so there is no gluing, sanding or spraying on it.
The ZBL-09 is a wheeled infantry fighting vehicle in an 8x8 layout, introduced with the armed forces of the People's Republic of China. It belongs to a modular family of armored vehicles whose individual members are joined by a shared wheeled chassis and differ in superstructure and armament. This form carries a rotating turret with a 30 mm automatic cannon completed by a coaxial machine gun. The wheeled chassis gives the vehicle higher speed on paved roads and lower maintenance demands than a tracked vehicle, which matches the emphasis on units moved quickly. The vehicle is amphibious and its shaped bow is characteristic of that ability. The digital camouflage pattern belongs to the typical look of Chinese vehicles of the last two decades.
The model calls for no modeling work - it is finished in production including the finish and the markings. A closed display case suits long-term display; the fine pattern of digital camouflage is quickly lost under a layer of dust, so it pays to protect the model. Use a soft brush dry for cleaning, as the factory finish would take neither solvents nor cleaning agents. The long silhouette of the eight-wheeled chassis shows to good effect in a display case beside shorter tracked types of the same scale.
The model is supplied finished - assembled and painted in production. It is not a kit, and neither glue nor paints are needed for it.
