FW14 Blue from Number Five is the blue component of the finish that Williams FW14 cars wore at the turn of the 1990s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second color component of the finish worn by the Williams FW14 formula car. While the yellow lights up its surfaces, the blue holds them together and makes the darker position of the whole.
The FW14 appeared in 1991 and was the first Williams car whose aerodynamics bore the mark of Adrian Newey. Nigel Mansell and Riccardo Patrese took turns at the wheel, and Renault supplied the engine. The car was fast from the start, but in the first season it was held back by the reliability of the gearbox, so the title slipped away and came only with the reworked version a year later. The finish was based on a light ground into which the blue entered at the nose and around the cockpit, and it was the blue that gave the car its dark outline. Both forms of the car are built by modelers and the same colors are sought for them, so the blue from this bottle covers the need for either.
For modelers of formula cars who put the look of a car together from paints and masks, and for those who build their palette by individual automobiles and want a blue assigned directly to this one. Anyone who runs a build through decals will appreciate the shade at least on the parts where a decal sheet cannot reasonably be laid, such as the edges of aerodynamic surfaces.
