A finished collector's model of the eight-wheeled Boxer armored vehicle in 1:72 scale from the maker Dragon. It is supplied assembled and painted in production, so no modeling work is carried out on it. It is not a plastic kit but a collector's model meant to be displayed directly. The 1:72 scale is the most widespread for modern vehicles, so the model goes with the other vehicles in a collection.
The Boxer is a heavy wheeled armored vehicle in an 8x8 layout that came out of an international program for a multi-role armored vehicle. It serves in the armed forces of several European states and outside Europe as well, and its strength lies in the fact that a single type of chassis covers a wide range of tasks: carrying a detachment, evacuating the wounded, command or technical support. The crew is protected against small arms fire and against explosions under the vehicle, and for its weight the vehicle has decent mobility both on and off the road. The letters and figures after the name set the individual production configurations apart.
It is a display piece, not a building project. The model has a finely made chassis with eight wheels and a superstructure with a great many small features that are easily damaged by careless handling. Take hold of it by the hull rather than by the antennas, mirrors and grab handles, and store it best in a closed display case; unlike a model built by your own hand, a finished painted surface cannot be resprayed without consequences.
The model is supplied assembled and painted. It is not a kit, and you need neither glue nor paints for it.
