Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks of kabuki tape for a model of the Phantom in 1:72 scale, supplied at the ADVANCED level. The BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT levels are this manufacturer's standard way of distinguishing the extent of a set for the same type of aircraft. ADVANCED stands above the basic BASIC level and is intended for modelers who want to mask more than just the necessary minimum. Kabuki tape is a thin paper carrier that follows curves and leaves no adhesive after removal. This is not a kit, but an accessory for the painting stage.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine supersonic fighter aircraft with very wide service. The F-4C and F-4D served with the US Air Force and the F-4J with the Navy; what they have in common is the divided glazing of the two-seat cockpit and a series of small areas that have to be covered during painting. It is precisely on models like these that an extended level of masks makes the most sense.
First degrease the glazing and the painted areas and let them dry. Transfer the mask with tweezers, seat it dry and press it down with a soft tool around the whole circumference. With larger sets, sort the pieces beforehand and stick them on step by step according to how you are going to spray the individual shades; taking everything off at once at the end is safer than re-masking as you go. Apply the paint in thin coats, as a heavy layer tears at the edge of the mask. Take the masks off shortly after they have dried, at a sharp angle toward yourself.
The set of masks is an accessory for painting a model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
