This item is a clip-together brick kit from the Polish maker COBI, not a plastic model. The hull, the turret and the running gear are assembled from shaped bricks and additional parts joined by clicking them together, while the fine elements are handled by printing on selected parts. The finished model is therefore complete the moment you click the last part in.
The M4A1 is a production version of the American M4 Sherman medium tank that you will recognize at first glance by its cast hull with rounded shapes: the other versions had a hull welded from flat plates. Power came from a radial engine, which gave the vehicle a tall silhouette but was reliable and readily available. The type was one of the most widespread tanks of its category and served on most of the fronts where Allied armored units operated.
Work through the steps of the instructions and push the joints fully home. On a brick kit a part that is not pushed home typically shows up only several steps later, when the following assembly will not fit onto it, so it pays to keep checking that nothing stands proud anywhere. Assemble the running gear so that the wheels sit in one plane. Place printed parts with regard to the orientation of the print. The finished tank is sturdy and will take being carried as well as ordinary handling in a cabinet.
The kit is supplied unassembled. Once assembled, the model is finished and ready to be displayed.
