An additional sheet from Star Decals for modelers finishing an assault gun in 1:48 scale. It follows on from an older part of the same theme and adds five further battalions from the years 1941 and 1942: StuG.Abt. 182, StuG.Abt. 190, StuG.Abt. 197, StuG.Abt. 243 and StuG.Abt. 244.
The assault gun battalions came into being as independent units attached to infantry formations as needed, so their vehicles appeared across a large part of the front. Each battalion used an emblem of its own, often derived from an animal, the arms of a city or a simple geometric shape. Added to that were the tactical numbers of the batteries and national crosses. The Ausf B version the markings are aimed at was built in a short run and still carried the short-barreled gun intended mainly against field fortifications and nests of resistance.
Even the base out with gloss varnish and let it cure completely. Soak the cut-out design, wait until the film releases, and lay it on the model together with the paper, which you then pull away sideways. Adjust the position with a brush, soak the excess water up and leave the area in peace until morning; only a dry decal will take being encapsulated in varnish.
