The small scale makes the model an ideal piece for a cabinet with no room left: it takes up a minimum of space, but the parts are tiny and fine, so it pays to work with a sharp knife and tweezers. The sister box of the same brand concentrates on European operators; choose according to the markings you want to build.
The Sikorsky H-34 is a single-rotor helicopter with a radial piston engine in the nose and a shaft that runs diagonally through the cabin to the main rotor. The layout left the cargo compartment clear for troops or materiel, which opened the type a way into transport, rescue and civil tasks. The helicopter served with armed forces and civil operators on several continents, and in many countries it stayed in service long after turbine machines came in.
Glue the fuselage together and sand the joints over before you start on the rotor; fit the head and the blades only after painting. Cut the parts off the sprue with a sharp knife, as nippers could crush the plastic in this scale. Mask the cabin glazing with liquid mask. Spray the paint heavily thinned in several thin coats. Apply the decals onto gloss varnish and draw them down with softener, then unify the whole model with matte or semi-gloss varnish. Suggest the wear only faintly, around the exhausts and the walkways.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
