A bust is a particular kind of figure: instead of a whole figure it captures only its upper part, but in a large scale. The 1:10 scale means that the work shifts from building to painting, because on the face every transition of shade is visible. That is exactly why busts are reached for by modelers who enjoy painting more than fitting parts together, and why busts are built as display-case pieces in their own right, not as part of a larger scene.
It will suit a painter of figures who wants to try a larger scale and a collector who is after a finished piece for a display case. It will also serve as a practice subject for work with the shades of skin and cloth, where mistakes hide in a small scale but not in a large one.
