Aviattic 1:72 five-color night lozenge in the full width of the pattern for the lower surfaces: the dark night version of the German polygonal print on fabric of the First World War, in a treatment for the undersides of the wings and the tail surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Aviattic decal sheet in 1:72 scale with the night version of the German five-color polygonal print on fabric, this time in a treatment for the lower surfaces. The pattern is printed in the full width of the period cloth, so you cut the segments exactly to the shapes of your model and decide the orientation of the strips of covering yourself.
Period covering fabric was printed in different tonal versions for the upper and the lower sides of an airframe, and the lower surfaces carried a set of shades of their own. On the night machines of the German air service the polygons were darker and more saturated overall, so that the aircraft drew as little attention as possible from searchlights and observers. Telling the upper and the lower surfaces apart correctly is the mark of an informed build.
The undersides of the wings of a biplane are broken up, so work field by field between the ribs, or in whole strips, depending on the method you choose. The base has to be glossy, settle the decals with setting solutions and close everything with clear once it is dry. Against a dark covering, fine rib tapes in a different tone stand out, and they can be added from separate sheets.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory rather than a kit of an aircraft. It is applied to a model as a particular build requires.
