This product is an aftermarket accessory, not an airplane kit. It is a set of cast resin barrels for the gun armament of IAR 80 fighter models in 1:48 scale. The barrels are cast crisply and with hollow muzzles, so once they replace the plastic parts from the box the guns look more realistic and finer than the injection-molded originals. The set comes from Quickboost, a range of the Aires brand.
The IAR 80 was a Romanian single-engine fighter of the Second World War, developed by the home manufacturer IAR in Brasov. In its day it counted among the sound European fighters and it was deployed mainly on the Eastern Front. Its armament consisted of machine guns and, in the later versions, of cannons mounted in the wings, and it is their muzzles and barrels that this set sharpens up.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks carefully, wash off any traces of release agent and sand the mating surfaces lightly. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend sanding with respiratory protection. Before the model is given its clear coat it is a good idea to spray the barrels separately and to fit them only at the very end of the build, so that they do not get damaged.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
