Responsibility details are not available.
The bust presents a Soviet tankman, and the year 1943 in the name places it in the middle of the war on the eastern front. The 1:10 scale is given by the name; with this subject the whole of the work is in textile, because there is not much metal here.
The year 1943 brought large armored clashes to the eastern front, among them in the area of the Kursk salient, and at the same time a period in which the tank formations already had two years of combat experience behind them. The crews wore a soft padded helmet with lengthwise ribs, which cushioned knocks in the cramped fighting compartment, and a one-piece working suit. The equipment was subordinated to the dimensions of the inside of the vehicle, so you will find nothing on it that would get in the way when climbing through a hatch. The training of the crews was among the most technically demanding in the whole army.
A padded helmet needs a soft transition between the ribs, that is a flowing brightening rather than crisp lines. Keep the suit in a grimy, slightly grayed tone and leave fresher color only where the cloth would not be worn. Grease and dust belong in the seams and at the collar, not over the whole area. Lead the skin soberly, with little stress on the lips and the eyes, so that the expression comes across as tired and not as made up.
