A simplified snap-fit kit of the Soviet heavy tank IS-2 in 1:100 scale from Zvezda out of the Art of Tactic range. The model consists of a few parts that click together without glue and still keep the massive silhouette of a heavy tank with its large turret and hefty gun. The package usually holds a base with a unit flag for the Art of Tactic tabletop game. Suitable for wargamers as well as collectors of vehicles in a small scale.
The IS-2, named after Josef Stalin, was a Soviet heavy tank of the end of the Second World War. It carried a hefty 122 mm gun whose heavy shells could pierce armor as well as destroy fortifications and buildings. Thick armor and a penetrating gun made it a feared opponent in the late fighting, especially when taking cities.
You will build the model in a moment without glue, and the joints can be strengthened with a drop of super glue. Apply a light base and the basic green shade and bring out the edges with a dry brush. A dark wash in the recesses and fine dust pigments on the running gear give even a small heavy tank the right mass and a worn look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
