The Red Baron was never a production car; it came about as a show car with striking styling, and that is exactly why it became a rewarding modeling subject. This kit is the small version in 1:32 scale, that is a compact model that can be built fairly quickly and takes up no space in a display case. Show rods are fantasy cars built for motor shows and parades, not for ordinary traffic. In a small scale the parts are tiny, so cut them off the sprue with nippers and sand the sprue nubs down instead of snapping them off. Dose the glue sparingly, because on small surfaces it quickly runs over and marks the surface. A show rod stands or falls with its paint: apply the paint in thin coats, let it cure and polish the surface over, so that it comes across as a real painted body. Do not paint the chrome-plated parts; just clean up the edges left by the sprue gates. Paint the engine and the interior before you close the body up.
