This is an aftermarket detail set from the Japanese brand Top Studio in 1:12 scale. It is not a model of the car but a set of air funnels in resin and turned metal, with small photo-etched parts added. You use them to replace the simplified funnels on a model of the McLaren Honda MP4/6 in 1:12 scale and give the engine a realistic look.
The McLaren Honda MP4/6 was the Formula 1 car of the 1991 season, powered by a twelve-cylinder Honda engine. Ayrton Senna took the drivers' world title with it. On this engine the air funnels above the cylinders are a prominent and clearly visible part of the powerplant.
Wash the resin and metal parts, clean up the casting remnants and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The inner surfaces of the funnels tend to be visible, so clean them up and paint them carefully. Fit the fine photo-etched parts of the throttle butterflies with a sensitive hand.
The detail set does not hold the model of the car itself. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
