An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:12 scale from the maker Hasegawa capturing the Suzuki GSX-R750 of 1986 — the second generation with the type designation GR71G. The modern tooling is molded in white, gray and clear, with the headlight and mirrors chrome-plated for a faithful shine. The decals allow the period red and blue color combination to be built. The model faithfully captures the frame, the engine and the fairing of this classic supersport.
The Suzuki GSX-R750 first appeared in 1985 and laid the foundation of a whole range of large-capacity sports motorcycles. It was fitted with an oil-cooled engine that was markedly lighter than the competition of the day, and with a light frame — thanks to which it set a new standard in the ratio of power to weight. The 1986 version followed on from that success and is among the icons of the 1980s supersports.
The fairing deserves clean paint over a primer and gloss clear at the end, so that the period red and blue combination stands out. Assemble and paint the frame and the engine before the fairing is fitted — otherwise you will not reach them later. Protect the chrome-plated headlight and mirrors from damage and glue them on last. Bring the chain and the small metal details out with a wash. Finish the glazing and the decals at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
