A decal sheet in 1:72 scale with the markings of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-5 machine of the pilot Hans Philipp of the JG 1 unit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-5 is one of the widespread versions of the German fighter with the BMW 801 radial engine. Compared with the earlier A-4 version it has a lengthened engine mounting, which moved the powerplant some way forward and slightly changed the outline of the nose. The Fw 190 differs at first glance from the slim fighters with inline engines in its broad nose and its sturdy, wide-track landing gear. Hans Philipp was one of the German fighter pilots who in 1943 commanded the JG 1 Geschwader.
These are decals for one particular machine, that is, for a modeler building that aircraft with the pilot's name, not a general set of national insignia. The extent of the sheet and any supplementary lettering are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version. A soaked self-adhesive film is irreversibly ruined, whereas a wet decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later. With an ordinary wet decal proceed as follows: cut the element out close to the edge, immerse it in water for a few seconds, let it rest on paper and only then slide it off the backing onto a glossy, clean surface. Apply the decal softener only after the decal has settled, so it is drawn to the relief of the surface. At the end, cover the whole thing with varnish, or the edges will stay visible.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
