This is a set of 3D decals from the maker Quinta Studio that replaces or supplements the interior detail of a plastic model. The color raised elements (the instrument panel, the side panels, the levers and the labels) are printed on a flexible film and are applied as a wet decal. It is therefore neither photo-etch nor resin, but finished color relief detail ready for immediate use. The decals are shaped to the parts of the Airfix kit.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier-borne anti-submarine and patrol aircraft of the 1950s with a characteristic pair of contra-rotating propellers driven by a turboprop engine. It served with the Royal Navy and was marked by a roomy cockpit with a richly subdivided instrument panel, which this set reproduces exactly.
Dip the element in lukewarm water for fifteen seconds, slide it off the carrier paper and settle it on a surface painted beforehand and coated with gloss varnish; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on precisely that varnish. The decals are thicker than classic ones, so it is a good idea to fix them with a drop of glue or gloss varnish. Do not use decal softeners or setters, which could damage the material.
The set holds interior 3D decals only, not the model, the paints or the glue.
