A dark olive green with a hint of brown. The name Verde Oliva Scuro 2 is an Italian designation that translates literally as dark olive green number 2; the numeral sets this tone apart from the other olive shades of the same family. It is a subdued color with no marked sheen to the pigment, the kind used on camouflage finishes.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, because on dark greens the pigment settles to the bottom and paint that has not been stirred through comes out unevenly. Use the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions for this range. Spray in thin coats and let them flash off between one another; a single heavy coat floods the engraving and the riveting. Large dark areas easily become dull, so it pays to add a little lighter green or sand to the paint and lighten the middle of the panels. Have the area covered with a gloss varnish before the decals.
For builders of military equipment and aircraft who need a particular dark olive tone and do not want to mix it, and for modelers who use the same shade as a base under lighter modulation and a patina.
