Responsibility details are not available.
This Rado Miniatures figure portrays a rifleman of the Polish Home Army with a Kar98k rifle at the time of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. It is a single figure in 1:35 scale, that is an accessory to models of equipment and to dioramas, not a vehicle kit.
The Kar98k is a German 7.92 mm bolt-action rifle with a turning bolt, the most widespread infantry weapon of the German army in the Second World War. Insurgent units in 1944 commonly used captured weapons, so pairing a Polish rifleman with this rifle is typical of the period. The setting of the uprising is urban: wrecked houses, barricades, cellar passages and paving, all rewarding elements for building a diorama.
First put the parts together dry, check how they sit and only then glue them. Remove the mold seams and sprue gate remains with a scalpel and fine sandpaper, working carefully on small parts so that they do not snap. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: super glue on resin castings, thin plastic cement on injection-molded plastic. After a base coat, paint the skin first and then the clothing. Civil and improvised items of clothing allow a variety of colors, which makes the figure stand out in a diorama. Finish the rifle in dark steel and the wooden parts in layered brown shades with a fine glaze.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
