Wooden Sheets in A4 Format from AK interactive are a building material — wood in sheet form for bases, floors, cladding and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is raw stock, not a finished part or a kit. The package contains wooden sheets in A4 format, the size of ordinary office paper, from which you cut and assemble the shapes you need yourself. Wood is used in modeling wherever the surface should show real wood grain — even the best-painted imitation of wood on plastic looks flatter under sharp light than a material that has the grain built in.
They are most often used to cut floors, planking and cladding: the floor of a barn or workshop in a diorama, a truck bed, a deck, crates, fences and enclosures. The second major use is a base and groundwork board for a scene, where the sheet forms the foundation onto which terrain is then glued. The wood grain shows best when you leave the surface exposed and only tone it with thinned paint or a wood stain instead of a covering coat.
The sheets are cut with a sharp modeling knife along a ruler; for thicker material, make two passes rather than one heavy cut. Cut with the grain where possible — across the grain, the edge frays easily. It is glued with wood glue (PVA) or cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary plastic cement does not work here. Sand the surface with a fine grit along the grain before toning it, and apply the color heavily thinned in several coats — wood absorbs unevenly, and one heavy coat will end up blotchy.
For diorama and display-case builders, and for modelers making their own bases and wooden parts.
When cutting, work on a cutting mat and guide the knife away from your body. Do not inhale sanding dust.
