Omask 1:48 Bf 109 E-1 and E-3 masking set is a pre-cut set of masks for the glazing of a model of the Emil in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model of an airplane. The pre-cut masks are stuck onto the cockpit glazing and save both time and nerves compared with cutting tape by hand, above all on the angular framing of the Emil, where there are plenty of strips. This item is the simpler of the two, because for the same type the same maker also makes a double-sided variant with masks for both sides of the glazing.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 E is an early production version of the German fighter, which modelers know by the nickname Emil. The E-1 and E-3 versions differ above all in armament and have the same glazing, which is why the maker of the masks covers them together. The flat faces of the canopy are rewarding to mask, but the narrow bars call for precision.
Before sticking them on, wash and degrease the glazing. Transfer the masks with tweezers, offer them up dry first and only then press the edges down. Seal the edges with a thin coat of the interior color, then spray the exterior shade in several thin coats, so that nothing creeps under the mask. Remove the mask while the paint is fresh, with a pull obliquely toward you. Wipe off any residue of adhesive with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol, away from the surface of the clear part.
The set contains masking parts only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
