1:144 Aero L-29 Delfin - pitot tubes is a turned metal accessory from MASTER that replaces the fine airspeed probes on a kit. It is not an aircraft model but a detail part.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal set from the Polish brand MASTER, intended to replace the pitot tubes on a plastic kit of the Aero L-29 Delfin trainer in 1:144 scale. The accessory is not a model in itself but a precisely machined part that replaces the corresponding plastic molding. The metal probe has a correctly thin profile and a solid tip, so it looks true on a finished model and will not break during handling or while the display case is being cleaned. In 1:144 scale this type of part in plastic is often the weakest point of a build.
The Aero L-29 Delfin is a jet trainer of Czechoslovak design that first flew at the end of the 1950s and became the standard basic trainer in a large part of the Warsaw Pact countries. It stood out for a simple and robust structure, undemanding operation and good handling. The pitot tube is the probe for total pressure used to measure airspeed, which is why on the real aircraft it is placed away from the area of disturbed airflow.
Cut the original plastic part off and sand the surface. Drill a hole matching the diameter of the metal part's pin at the attachment point with a micro drill, dry-fit the part and only then glue it in with super glue. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with primer, otherwise the paint holds badly. The safest approach is to fit the part at the very end of the build, after the finish and the decals.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
