A kit of the modern wide-body Airbus A350-1000 airliner in injection-molded plastic in 1:144 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda. The stretched -1000 version is the flagship of the A350 family, and even in this standard scale of civil aviation it makes a respectably large and elegant model.
The A350 is a long-haul twin-engine aircraft with a high proportion of composite materials in its structure and characteristically curved wingtips. The -1000 version, the largest member of the family, is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines in their most powerful form; the aircraft flies on the longest scheduled routes in the world and is gradually replacing older four-engine types.
With airliners a smooth surface is what decides: sand the fuselage joints carefully and use a primer before painting, which reveals any unevenness. Spray the white in several thin coats onto gloss, and the decals will then adhere without silvering. The windows can be dealt with by decals or by masking; apply the metal shades of the leading edges and the engine nacelles last onto a polished base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
