Armory 1:144 – wheels for the Antonov An-26 with weighted tires is a universal resin set that gives a model a realistic contact with the ground.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set of resin landing gear wheels with so-called deformation under load – the tires have a slightly flattened contact area exactly as a real wheel looks under the weight of an aircraft. The manufacturer designates the set as universal. This is not an aircraft kit but an improvement to one.
The Antonov An-26 is a twin-engine turboprop transport aircraft with a cargo ramp, which from the end of the 1960s served with military and civil operators all over the world. Its rugged landing gear with low-pressure tires let it operate even from unpaved surfaces – and tires like those sink noticeably under a fully loaded machine.
A model standing on perfectly round wheels looks as if it is floating. A flattened contact area, by contrast, anchors the aircraft to the base visually, which builders of dioramas appreciate above all. Resin castings moreover have a fine drawing of the hubs. All you have to do is cut the casting blocks off, sand the wheels at the point of the cut, glue them on with super glue – the flattening always faces the ground – and paint them; a dark gray shade will set the tire apart from the colored hub.
An add-on set – the base model of the aircraft is not included in the package.
