Resin wheels with weighted tires for the Armstrong Whitworth Argosy model in 1:144 scale, late version, from Armory. An accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast wheels with weighted tires for a model of the British Armstrong Whitworth Argosy transport aircraft in 1:144 scale, in the late version according to the box. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the kit. In 1:144 a wheel is only a few millimeters across and the mold seam left by the two plastic halves is hard to sand off it; a one-piece casting does not have one, and the tread and the hub stay crisp.
The Argosy was a British transport aircraft with four Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines and an unmistakable twin tail carried on two booms. Doors opened between them at the rear, so cargo could be loaded and air-dropped from behind. It appeared at the end of the 1950s in a civil and a military form; the military machines served with British transport aviation and the civil ones carried freight. Each main leg of the landing gear carried several wheels, so that the aircraft could lift a load even from softer surfaces.
Wash the parts in warm water with detergent so that the release agent from the mold disappears. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the surface flat; protect your breathing while sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate, that is super glue; polystyrene cement does not hold on resin. Point the flattened part of the tire toward the ground and line both sides up. Spray a primer before painting.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
