A model of the French Blériot-SPAD S.510 fighter biplane in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Blériot-SPAD S.510 was a French single-seat fighter biplane of the 1930s and the last biplane fighter in the service of the French Air Force. It had an open cockpit, fixed landing gear and a piston engine. It entered service at a time when fast monoplanes with enclosed cockpits were already taking over, and its career therefore stayed short; all the more interesting does it look today in a display case among the angular machines of the Second World War.
The 1:144 scale is home to collectors who want a whole squadron on one shelf. The finished machine is small, which makes clean lines, thin struts and precise seating of the wings all the more important. A biplane is rewarding in this scale precisely because it has a striking silhouette you can recognize from across the room.
Set the wings against a flat surface and let them dry in a jig or between supports, so that the upper wing does not sit crooked. Suggest the bracing between the wings with thin thread or elastic line, tensioned only once the glue has dried. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and lay the color down in thin layers so that it does not flood the fine surface. The right glue and the way to prepare the parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
