An injection-molded plastic kit of the early British de Havilland Vampire jet aircraft in the small 1:144 scale. The package is conceived as 2 in 1, that is it holds parts for two models, and covers the fighter and ground-attack versions FB.5, FB.52 and the Swedish designation J 28B. The set also suits collectors of small scales and modeling collections. The manufacturer is Mark I.
The de Havilland Vampire was one of the first jet fighters of the Royal Air Force. Characteristic features are the twin-boom tail, a short fuselage of mixed wood and metal construction and a de Havilland Goblin jet engine. The Vampire served with a number of countries; the J 28B version was operated by the Swedish Air Force and the FB.52 was aimed at export.
In a small scale take care over clean joints and thin paint coats so that the engraving does not disappear. Glue the joints with a thin plastic cement, treat the surface with primer and apply the shades with an airbrush. The decals settle better on a gloss varnish; apply the small markings with a setting solution.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
