An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Hawker Tempest F.6 (Mk.VI) fighter in the small 1:144 scale from Mark I. The set combines injection-molded plastic parts with several resin parts that capture the characteristic reworkings of this version, and with a clear part for the canopy. A sheet of decals with several marking options is included.
The Tempest Mk.VI was a late development version of the Tempest powered by a powerful Napier Sabre engine. Its characteristic features were the relocated air intakes in the wing leading edge and a larger radiator, which provided adequate engine cooling even in a hot climate. The aircraft served above all in the postwar years in regions with a tropical climate.
At the small 1:144 scale the small parts call for careful work. Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. Apply a base coat before painting; an airbrush and masking will help with the subtle postwar RAF schemes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
