An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:144 scale from Mark I. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; to finish it you will need cement for plastic and modeling paints. The particular contents of the package, the number of parts and the number of decal schemes are stated on the box and in the instructions for the kit.
The Tempest grew out of the design of the Typhoon, but it received a new wing with a thin section, which improved behavior at high speeds. The Mk.V was the most widespread version, powered by a liquid-cooled H-24 engine and armed with cannons in the wing. The type excelled in speed at low and medium altitudes and was deployed among other things against V-1 flying bombs and in attacks on ground targets at the end of the war.
The characteristic ventral radiator is a focal element — sand its joints carefully so that no steps show. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue with thin cement for plastic. A base coat before painting unifies the surface and shows up fine blemishes. At a small scale British camouflage transitions look better sprayed softly with an airbrush than masked to a hard edge. Spray the invasion stripes, if you use them, through a mask rather than brushing them on. Apply a gloss clear coat under the decals and unify the surface with a matte one at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
