1:144 star-type tie-down points for a US aircraft carrier deck are a photo-etched diorama accessory, not a model. They serve to detail the deck on which aircraft models stand.

A set of photo-etched parts from Brengun that stands in for the tie-down points recessed into the flight deck of American aircraft carriers. It is not a model or a kit but an accessory for a base or a diorama on which models of carrier aircraft in 1:144 scale are displayed. Etched sheet is ideal for this purpose, because its thickness is close to that of real recessed fittings and once it is let into the base it does not stand above the surface.
Tie-down points are fixed anchorages spaced in a regular grid across the whole flight deck. Aircraft are lashed to them with chains so that they do not move when the ship rolls or in a strong wind. On a model they are the small things that give a deck scale and legibility, because an empty gray area looks unfinished. The star type differs from the cross type in the arrangement of the holes in the fitting.
Lay out the deck base in pencil to the grid first, and only then glue. In a board of card or plastic the parts can be let into a shallow recess cut with a scalpel, and they are then completely flush. They are bonded with a small amount of super glue so that no glossy patches form around them. Once it is dry, overspray the whole deck in a uniform color and only then bring the tie-down points out with a dark wash that runs into the holes. Wear from rolling wheels is done with a dry pigment applied with a brush along the axis of the deck.
This is a diorama accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package.
