1:35 LUCHS

What kind of goods this is

A set of wheels in 1:35 scale from the field of accessories for plastic models of military vehicles. Goods of this kind are bought where a builder wants to replace the running gear of a model with separately supplied parts, or needs more of them. How many pieces the package contains and what the parts are made of is stated on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions.

The designation Luchs

The name Luchs was carried by more than one vehicle in German service. The best known is the Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L light reconnaissance tank of the Second World War, with running gear on interleaved road wheels; the same name was then given to the postwar eight-wheeled armored reconnaissance car SpPz 2. Both subjects are built in 1:35 scale, so check which kit you are buying the parts for and how many wheels it needs before you buy.

Building and painting tips

• First try the parts dry to see whether they fit the running gear of your kit.
• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the rest carefully.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; anything that is not polystyrene holds with cyanoacrylate glue.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on a smooth surface.
• Paint the tire and the disc separately and mask the boundary between them with masking tape.

Who it is for

The set suits modelers who want running gear more elaborate than in the base kit, and builders of dioramas where the vehicle is seen close up. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
