A double-sided set of masking templates for the Bf 109 E-4 and E-7 in 1:48 scale from Omask, that is, masks for both the outer and the inner side of the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a model, not a kit. The set contains pre-cut masking templates for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the E-4 and E-7 versions in 1:48 scale. According to the name it is the double-sided variant, that is, with masks for the inner side of the glazing as well. That is useful when the canopy is open or when you want the canopy frame to have the right color on the inside too.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 of the E series, nicknamed Emil, were single-seat fighters with an angular canopy made up of several flat panes set in a frame. It is precisely that construction that makes masking the canopy the most time-consuming part of the build: the frames are narrow and angled and are hard to cut from tape by hand. The E-4 and E-7 versions differ mainly in the equipment under the fuselage and have the same glazing shape, which is why one set covers both.
Before masking, wash the glazing in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let it dry freely, so that no greasy marks are left on it. Move the templates with tweezers and press them down with a blunt stick or a toothpick. Apply the inner masks before you set the canopy into the fuselage. Spray the paint in thin coats, otherwise it will seep under the edge. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, and peel it slowly at a shallow angle rather than straight up.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
