A three-dimensional puzzle of the best known Paris cathedral from the brand Revell. It is not a classic plastic model: the individual parts already have their finished shape and surface and join by simply snapping together, so the build is clean and quick. The finished cathedral serves as a decoration for a shelf, as a souvenir from Paris and as a small gift for lovers of architecture.
Notre-Dame cathedral stands on the Île de la Cité in the very center of Paris. Construction began in the twelfth century and went on in stages for several more centuries, so the development of Gothic building can be seen in the structure, from the massive west front with its two towers through the great rose windows to the buttressing system that carries the weight of the vaults. The cathedral is among the most visited monuments in Europe; after the fire of its roof structure in 2019 it went through an extensive restoration.
Assemble it on a flat surface and follow the logic of the building: the base and the nave first, then the front and the towers. Push the parts in square and press them home until the joint engages; leave the thin elements, such as the pinnacles and flying buttresses, until the end, so that they do not break off during the work. Carry the finished model by its base, never by the towers or the walkways.
The puzzle is supplied unassembled. The parts fit together by snapping, so you need no tools or other modeling supplies for the build.
