The real subject

The Eiffel Tower came about as the entrance arch of the world exhibition in Paris in 1889, and since then a temporary structure has become the symbol of the city. It is carried by a lattice structure of iron members joined into four splayed legs that converge into a single slender tower. It was criticized from the very beginning, but its practical use for broadcasting saved it, and today it is among the most visited monuments in the world.

What a three-dimensional puzzle is

The parts are taken out of the sheets and joined in the order given by the instructions into a model that stands up by itself. What comes about is not a picture as with a flat puzzle but a three-dimensional structure, with which the order of the steps is decisive. What to watch out for

• Work on a flat surface from which small parts do not roll onto the floor.
• Push the parts in square and without force; a bent joint will no longer hold firmly.
• Put the lighting and its wiring in according to the instructions in good time; getting them into a finished structure later is difficult.
• Before you finish, try whether the light works, so that you do not have to take the model apart.
• Stand the finished model away from damp and direct sunlight and dust it with a soft brush.

Who it is for

The puzzle suits a gift, a joint evening project and a lit decoration for a shelf. You need no modeling tools for it. Glue, paints and batteries are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
